Dishwasher runs but dishes are cold and not drying, cycle may end early with E3 displayed.

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the dishwasher to cool completely before accessing internal components.

• 1. Confirm symptom: Run a hot wash cycle and open the door immediately after it stops (if safe). If the water and interior are cold and E3 appears, the heater circuit is likely not working.
• 2. Inspect wiring at heater: Remove the lower front panel and, if needed, pull the dishwasher out slightly. Locate the Hisense heater (either a flow-through heater on the circulation pump or a base plate heater). Check for burned connectors, loose plugs, or melted insulation.
• 3. Test heater resistance: With power disconnected, unplug the heater terminals and measure resistance with a multimeter. An open circuit (infinite resistance) indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
• 4. Check NTC sensor: Locate the Hisense NTC temperature sensor (often in the sump). Inspect the connector and wiring. A sensor that is open or shorted will cause heating errors; replace if readings are out of specification.
• 5. Control board inspection: If heater and sensor test good, the main PCB heater relay or triac may be defective. Visual signs include burn marks or cracked solder joints. Board-level repair should be done by a qualified technician; otherwise replace the control module.
