Possible Causes
Dirty or scaled Hisense turbidity sensor window, Faulty turbidity sensor, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Wiring fault between sensor and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any internal components.
- 1. Locate the turbidity sensor: The Hisense turbidity (optical) sensor is usually mounted on the side of the sump or tub base, accessible from inside the tub or from underneath.
- 2. Clean the sensor window: From inside the tub, remove the lower rack and filters. If the sensor is visible, gently clean the clear plastic window with a soft cloth and warm soapy water to remove film and scale.
- 3. Access from below if needed: Remove the lower front panel and locate the sensor body. Disconnect the wiring plug and inspect for moisture or corrosion. Dry and reseat the connector firmly.
- 4. Inspect wiring harness: Follow the harness from the sensor to the main PCB, checking for pinched or damaged wires.
- 5. Replace sensor if faulty: If E6 persists and the sensor tests open/shorted or shows no change in resistance/voltage per service data, replace the Hisense turbidity sensor.
