Dishwasher shows E8 and may have poor wash performance or unusual water levels.

Safety first: Disconnect power and water supply before removing the dishwasher from its cavity.

• 1. Confirm symptom: Check if only one spray arm is working or if the spray pattern is inconsistent before E8 appears.
• 2. Clean spray arms and filters: Remove and clean both spray arms and the filter system to ensure good flow; sometimes low flow can affect diverter operation.
• 3. Access diverter assembly: Remove the lower front panel and, if needed, tilt the dishwasher back. The Hisense diverter valve is usually attached to the sump or circulation pump outlet.
• 4. Inspect for debris: Remove the diverter cover and check for food particles, glass, or plastic obstructing the diverter disc or gears. Clean thoroughly.
• 5. Test diverter motor: Check the wiring connector and test the motor for continuity. If the motor is open or seized, replace the diverter valve assembly.
• 6. Reassemble and test: After cleaning or replacing the diverter, run a test cycle. Persistent E8 may indicate a control board issue with diverter feedback.
