Possible Causes
Incoming water supply valve closed, Clogged inlet screen at fill solenoid, Failed water inlet solenoid valve, Faulty water level / pressure switch not detecting fill
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the dishwasher’s power at the breaker and close the incoming water shutoff valve before working on the machine.
- Check water supply: Verify the building’s hot water shutoff feeding the Insinger dishwasher is fully open. Confirm there is adequate water pressure at the supply line.
- Inspect inlet hose and screen: Remove the supply hose from the dishwasher’s water inlet solenoid valve. Check the mesh screen inside the valve body for debris or scale; clean with a soft brush and reinstall.
- Test the water inlet solenoid valve: With power off, disconnect the wires from the valve and measure coil resistance with a multimeter. An open coil (infinite resistance) indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.
- Check water level / pressure switch: Locate the water level or pressure switch assembly and inspect the small pressure hose for kinks, cracks, or blockages. Clear any debris and ensure the hose is firmly attached.
- Run a test cycle: Restore power and water, then start a short cycle to confirm that the machine fills within the normal time and the E1 code clears.
