Possible Causes

Stuck or failed water level switch, Blocked pressure hose to level switch, Water inlet valve stuck open, Faulty control board not closing inlet circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply valve. Be prepared for hot water in the tank.

  • Inspect water level switch: Locate the level or pressure switch used by the Insinger dishwasher. Remove the small rubber or vinyl pressure hose and blow through it to ensure it is clear. Clean any scale or debris from the hose nipple.
  • Check for stuck contacts: With the switch removed or accessible, test continuity across the switch terminals while gently applying pressure (or water level simulation per service manual). Replace the switch if contacts remain closed when they should open.
  • Examine inlet valve: If water continues to enter the machine even with power off, the water inlet solenoid valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
  • Control board check: If the inlet valve only overfills when powered, but the valve tests good, the control board relay may be stuck. Inspect the board for burned or welded relay contacts; replacement of the control module is typically required.
  • Test operation: After replacing faulty parts, restore water and power, then run a fill test to confirm the water stops at the correct level and E2 does not reappear.
