Possible Causes

Clogged drain pump inlet or impeller, Blocked drain hose or air gap, Failed drain pump motor, Faulty drain relay or wiring on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and ensure hot water has cooled. Wear gloves to protect from sharp edges and debris.

  • Clean the sump and filters: Remove the scrap screen and filters from the Insinger dishwasher tank. Clear any food debris, glass, or foreign objects that may block the drain intake.
  • Inspect drain pump: Access the drain pump assembly. Remove the pump cover and check the impeller for obstructions. Spin the impeller by hand; it should turn freely. Remove any debris and reassemble.
  • Check drain hose: Follow the drain hose from the pump to the building drain. Look for kinks, clogs, or a blocked air gap. Flush the hose with water or compressed air if necessary.
  • Test pump motor: With power off, measure resistance across the pump motor terminals. An open winding or short to ground indicates a failed pump that must be replaced.
  • Control and wiring: If the pump is mechanically and electrically sound but does not run, inspect wiring harness connections and test for voltage at the pump during drain. If no voltage is present, the control board or drain relay may be defective.
