Possible Causes
Misaligned door or hood latch, Failed door interlock switch, Broken actuator on door mechanism, Faulty wiring to door switch input on control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before adjusting door or hood components.
- Inspect latch alignment: For Insinger door-type or hood-type dishwashers, check that the latch or hood mechanism fully engages the interlock switch. Adjust hinges or latch brackets so the switch actuator is fully depressed when closed.
- Check door switch: Locate the door/hood interlock switch. Test continuity with a multimeter while operating the actuator. Replace the switch if it does not change state reliably.
- Examine actuator and hardware: Look for bent or broken latch arms, worn rollers, or missing screws that prevent full closure. Replace damaged hardware.
- Wiring and control input: Verify that the door switch wiring harness is intact and firmly connected to the control board. If the control does not recognize a closed switch despite proper wiring and a good switch, the input circuit on the control board may be defective.
