Possible Causes
Damaged rack coating on Insinger racks, High chloride content in water or chemicals, Prolonged exposure to standing water, Scratched stainless surfaces not cleaned
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and drain hot water before working inside the tank.
- Inspect racks: Examine Insinger dish racks for chipped or worn coating exposing bare metal. Replace severely corroded racks.
- Clean rust spots: Use a non-abrasive stainless cleaner to remove surface rust from the tank. Avoid steel wool, which can embed carbon steel particles.
- Check water and chemical quality: Consult your chemical supplier to ensure detergents and rinse aids are compatible with stainless steel and that chloride levels are within safe limits.
- Prevent standing water: Ensure the machine drains fully at the end of the day and leave doors or hoods slightly open to promote drying.
