Possible Causes
Shorted Maidaid heating element, Water ingress into wiring or components, Damaged power cable, Faulty wash or drain pump winding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Isolate the appliance and use a qualified electrician or technician if unsure.
- Visual inspection: Remove panels and inspect for obvious signs of burning, melted insulation, or water leaks onto electrical parts.
- Check heater to earth: With power disconnected, measure resistance between each heater terminal and earth. A low reading indicates earth leakage; replace the Maidaid heater.
- Inspect pumps: Test wash and drain pump windings for shorts to earth. Replace any Maidaid pump showing leakage.
- Dry out moisture: If water ingress is found, fix the leak and allow components to dry completely before retesting.
