Possible Causes
Failed tank heating element, Faulty temperature probe (NTC), Burnt wiring or loose connectors on heater, Faulty heater relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the dishwasher from mains power. Heating components operate at full mains voltage.
- Confirm symptom: Run a short cycle and feel the door or tank after 5–10 minutes (carefully). If still cold and E3 appears, proceed with checks.
- Access heater: Remove the front lower panel or side panel to locate the Maidaid tank heating element and wiring.
- Check wiring: Inspect heater terminals and harness for signs of burning, loose spades, or corrosion. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Test element: Disconnect the heater leads and measure resistance across the Maidaid heating element with a multimeter. A typical reading is between 10–40 Ω depending on rating. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element.
- Check temperature probe: Locate the Maidaid NTC sensor in the tank wall. Measure its resistance at room temperature and compare with service data (commonly 10kΩ at 25°C). Replace if open, shorted, or far out of spec.
- If heater and NTC are OK: The heater relay or control PCB may be defective. This is a board-level repair and should be handled by a qualified technician.
