Possible Causes
Blocked wash pump impeller, Faulty Maidaid wash circulation pump, Air lock in pump housing, Severely clogged wash arm jets
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.
- Check spray arms: Remove upper and lower Maidaid spray arms. Rinse under running water and clear each jet hole with a toothpick or small brush to remove debris.
- Inspect pump intake: Remove the tank filter and inspect the pump intake area for broken glass, labels, or food blocking the circulation pump.
- Access wash pump: From the front or side, locate the Maidaid wash circulation pump. Remove the cover and check that the impeller spins freely by hand.
- Bleed air lock: Refill the tank and slightly loosen a hose connection at the pump outlet to allow trapped air to escape, then retighten.
- Electrical test: Measure the wash pump motor winding resistance. If open or shorted, replace the Maidaid wash circulation pump assembly.
- Final test: Reassemble, restore power, and run a wash cycle. Observe through the door (if glass) or listen for strong spray action. If E5 persists, a technician should check the control board output to the pump.
