Possible Causes
Open or shorted Maidaid NTC temperature probe, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Poor connection at control board, Control PCB analog input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before accessing internal wiring.
- Locate NTC: The Maidaid temperature probe is usually mounted in the tank wall or in the hydraulic circuit near the heater.
- Inspect connections: Check the NTC plug and wiring for corrosion, moisture ingress, or loose pins. Dry and reseat connectors.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect the NTC and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare with Maidaid service specifications (commonly around 10kΩ at 25°C). A reading near 0Ω or infinite indicates a failed sensor.
- Check harness continuity: Test continuity from the NTC connector to the control board connector. Repair or replace the harness if open.
- Replace sensor: If the NTC is out of spec, install a new Maidaid temperature probe and ensure it is properly seated and sealed.
- If E7 persists: The control board’s sensor input may be faulty and requires professional diagnosis and replacement.
