Possible Causes
Low water level in Maidaid rinse boiler, Faulty boiler level probe, Failed booster heater, Faulty boiler thermostat or NTC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power and allow the machine to cool. Boiler components can be extremely hot and under pressure.
- Check water supply: Ensure adequate incoming water pressure so the rinse boiler can fill correctly.
- Inspect boiler level probe: Remove the top or side panel to access the Maidaid rinse boiler. Clean the stainless-steel level probe(s) with a non-abrasive pad to remove scale.
- Descale boiler: If heavy limescale is present, follow Maidaid’s descaling procedure using an approved descaler. Rinse thoroughly afterwards.
- Test booster heater: With power off, measure resistance across the booster heater terminals. Replace the Maidaid booster heater if open-circuit.
- Check boiler thermostat/NTC: Test the temperature sensor or thermostat for continuity and correct resistance. Replace if faulty.
- Reset and test: Restore power, reset the error (if applicable), and run a cycle. If E8 returns, a technician should check the boiler control circuitry on the PCB.
