Possible Causes
Faulty Maidaid door switch or interlock, Misaligned door latch, Broken door catch, Damaged wiring to door switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working on the door assembly.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and evenly. Look for bent hinges or obstructions preventing full closure.
- Inspect latch and strike: Examine the Maidaid door catch and cabinet strike plate for wear or damage. Adjust or replace if the latch does not engage securely.
- Test door switch: Access the control panel area to reach the door switch or interlock. Use a multimeter to check continuity when the door is closed. Replace the Maidaid door interlock if it does not switch correctly.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness between the door switch and control board for broken conductors, especially where it flexes. Repair or replace as needed.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing or adjusting components, restore power and start a cycle. Confirm that E9 does not reappear and that the machine runs with the door closed only.
