Possible Causes

Low household water pressure, Clogged inlet filter screen on Midea inlet valve, Defective Midea water inlet valve, Kinked or pinched inlet hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher or switch off the circuit breaker and close the water supply valve before working on the machine.

  • Check household water supply: Ensure the under-sink shutoff valve feeding the dishwasher is fully open. Verify other faucets in the home have normal pressure.
  • Inspect inlet hose: Pull the dishwasher out slightly and confirm the blue or gray inlet hose is not kinked, crushed, or sharply bent. Straighten as needed.
  • Clean inlet valve filter: Turn off water. Disconnect the inlet hose from the Midea water inlet valve at the bottom-left or bottom-right of the machine. Inside the valve port there is a small mesh filter; remove debris with tweezers and rinse under running water. Reinstall carefully.
  • Run a test fill: Restore power and water, then start a quick cycle. Listen for water entering. If you still get E1 and no water sound, the inlet valve coil may be faulty and should be replaced.
  • When to call a technician: If the valve is receiving 120V/230V (depending on region) but does not open, or if you are not comfortable working with plumbing and electrical connections, contact a qualified technician.
