Possible Causes
Water leak from sump seal, Inlet valve, or hoses, Activated float switch in base tray, Cracked Midea tub or sump, Loose hose clamp
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off water supply immediately to prevent further leakage.
- Check for visible leaks: Remove the lower kick panel and inspect the base tray for water. If water is present, carefully sponge it out.
- Inspect float switch: Locate the float or micro-switch in the base tray. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck in the up (flood) position.
- Identify leak source: Run a short fill test while observing the base (use a flashlight). Look for drips from the sump gasket, circulation pump, drain pump, inlet valve, or hoses.
- Tighten and reseal: Tighten loose hose clamps, replace cracked hoses, and inspect the sump seal. Replace the Midea sump gasket or leaking component as needed.
- Do not bypass safety: Never bypass the leak float switch; fix the leak properly. If the tub itself is cracked, consult a technician about repair or replacement options.
