Possible Causes
Failed Midea wash circulation pump motor, Loose or damaged pump wiring harness, Seized pump impeller causing overcurrent, Faulty main control board pump driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the pump or wiring.
- Listen for pump operation: Start a cycle and listen. If you hear filling but no strong spray or motor sound, the circulation pump may not be running.
- Check wiring: Remove the lower kick panel and tilt the dishwasher slightly back. Locate the circulation pump on the sump. Inspect the wiring connector for secure fit and signs of overheating.
- Impeller check: With power off, remove the pump (usually a twist-lock or screw mount). Inspect the impeller for debris and verify it spins freely. If seized or very stiff, replace the pump.
- Electrical test (advanced): Measure resistance of the pump motor windings. An open circuit or short indicates a failed motor.
- Control board: If the pump is good but never receives power, the main PCB may be faulty and should be serviced by a technician.
