Possible Causes
Stuck Midea diverter valve, Foreign object in sump diverter mechanism, Faulty diverter position sensor, Wiring issue to diverter motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and water before tipping or removing the dishwasher.
- Check for debris: Remove the lower rack and filters. Inspect the sump area for broken glass, bones, or plastic that could jam the diverter.
- Access diverter: From the bottom of the unit, locate the diverter motor attached to the sump. Remove the motor and inspect the diverter shaft for free movement.
- Clean and reassemble: Remove any debris, ensure the diverter rotates smoothly, and reinstall the motor, making sure the seal is properly seated.
- Test cycle: Run a short cycle and listen for normal spray pattern changes between upper and lower arms. If E9 returns, the diverter motor or sensor may need replacement.
- Technician recommended: Diverter and sump replacement can be complex and may require full removal of the dishwasher.
