Dryer drum turns but there is a loud squealing or screeching noise during operation.

Safety first: Disconnect power.

Steps:

• Isolate the noise: Run the dryer briefly (with panels on) to identify if the noise changes with load size or speed, then unplug.
• Access drum supports: Remove front panel and drum belt to inspect drum rollers and idler pulley.
• Check rollers and idler: Spin each roller and the idler pulley by hand. Replace any that squeal, bind, or wobble. Lubrication is generally not recommended; use new parts.
• Inspect drum glides: If your Asko model uses front glides, check for heavy wear and replace if the drum is rubbing metal-to-metal.
