Possible Causes

Dirty or coated moisture sensor bars, Broken moisture sensor wiring harness, Failed moisture sensor, Faulty main control board sensor circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

Steps to address moisture sensing issues:

  • Clean the sensor bars: Locate the two metal strips (moisture sensor bars) inside the drum, usually near the lint filter housing. Clean them thoroughly with a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol to remove fabric softener and detergent residue.
  • Avoid dryer sheets on test loads: Run a test cycle without dryer sheets, as they can coat the sensors and interfere with readings.
  • Inspect wiring: Remove the front panel or lower access panel (depending on model) to access the back of the sensor bars. Check the wiring harness for loose connections or broken wires. Reseat connectors.
  • Test the sensor: With a multimeter, check continuity across the sensor terminals while bridging the bars with a damp cloth. If no change in resistance is observed, the sensor may be faulty and should be replaced.
  • Control board check: If the sensor and wiring are good but E03 persists, the moisture sensing circuit on the main control board may be defective and require professional diagnosis or replacement.
