Possible Causes
Open heating element, Blown thermal fuse, Faulty heater relay on control board, Loose or burnt heater wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Heating components can retain heat; allow to cool.
Steps to diagnose heater circuit:
- Check power supply: For electric Asko dryers, verify correct voltage at the outlet (often 240V split-phase). A missing leg can cause no heat but motor operation.
- Access heater assembly: Remove the rear panel to access the heater housing. Visually inspect for burnt spots or broken coils.
- Test heating element: Disconnect the element terminals and measure resistance with a multimeter. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Check thermal fuse and thermostats: Test the thermal fuse and thermostats on the heater housing for continuity. Replace any open components.
- Inspect wiring and relay: Look for burnt connectors or discolored wires between the heater and control board. On the main PCB, inspect the heater relay for signs of burning or damage. If the relay is defective, the control board may need replacement.
If you are not comfortable working with high-voltage circuits, contact a qualified technician.
