Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor, Loose NTC connector, Damaged wiring harness to NTC, Faulty main control module sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains before accessing internal components.
Steps to check and fix:
- Locate the NTC sensor: On Balay dryers, NTC sensors are typically mounted on the heater housing, exhaust duct, or near the condenser/heat pump unit.
- Inspect connectors: Check that the NTC plug is firmly seated on the sensor and on the control board side. Look for corrosion or burnt pins.
- Measure resistance: Remove the NTC connector and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with service specifications (commonly between 5–20 kΩ at 20°C). A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a defective sensor.
- Check wiring: Wiggle the harness while measuring to detect intermittent breaks. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Replace NTC if faulty: Unscrew or unclip the sensor and install a genuine Balay-compatible NTC. Ensure good thermal contact with the mounting surface.
- Test operation: Reassemble, reconnect power, and run a warm program. If E06 persists with a known-good sensor and wiring, the control module may be defective.
