Possible Causes
Broken or slipped drive belt, Seized drum support rollers or idler pulley, Faulty drive motor, Faulty motor capacitor (on some models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Sharp metal edges inside the cabinet can cause injury; wear gloves.
Steps to check and fix:
- Check drum movement: Open the door and try to rotate the drum by hand. If it is very stiff or jammed, suspect seized rollers, foreign objects, or a jammed blower.
- Inspect the belt: Remove the top cover and rear panel (or front, depending on model) to view the belt. If the belt is broken or off the pulley, replace it with the correct Balay belt and route it around the motor pulley and idler as per service diagram.
- Check rollers and idler: Spin the drum support rollers and idler pulley by hand. Replace any that are noisy, rough, or seized.
- Test the motor: With the belt removed, spin the motor shaft. If stiff or noisy, the motor may be failing. Measure motor winding resistance and check the start/run capacitor (if fitted) with a capacitance meter. Replace faulty components.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing the belt or other parts, reassemble the cabinet, reconnect power, and run a test cycle. If E07 persists with a free-spinning drum and good motor, the motor control circuit on the PCB may be defective.
