Possible Causes
Obstructed blower wheel, Loose blower wheel on motor shaft, Faulty fan motor (on separate fan-motor models), Damaged wiring to fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power. Moving fan blades can cause injury; never work with power applied.
Steps to check and fix:
- Access the blower: Remove the rear panel or side panel to reach the blower housing. On some Balay models, the blower is attached directly to the drive motor shaft.
- Inspect for obstructions: Remove lint, fabric pieces, or foreign objects from the blower wheel and housing.
- Check blower attachment: Ensure the blower wheel is firmly fixed to the shaft and not cracked. Tighten or replace if loose or damaged.
- Test fan motor: If the fan is driven by a separate motor, check its wiring and measure coil resistance. Replace the fan motor if open circuit or if it hums but does not turn.
- Verify wiring: Inspect the harness from the control board to the fan motor for damage or burnt connectors. Repair as needed.
- Reassemble and test: After clearing obstructions and replacing faulty parts, reassemble and run a test cycle. Persistent E08 may indicate a control board fault.
