Possible Causes

Multiple sensor inputs out of range (NTC, moisture sensor), Corrupted control board firmware, Faulty main control module, Poor grounding or power supply issues

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power before opening the appliance.

Steps to check and fix:

  • Basic reset: Unplug the dryer for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect and attempt to start a simple timed program.
  • Check all filters and airflow: Ensure lint filter, condenser, and air paths are clean. Overheating or poor drying can confuse sensor readings.
  • Inspect sensors: Verify that NTC sensors and moisture sensor bars are connected and not damaged. Clean moisture sensors and check NTC wiring.
  • Check supply voltage: Ensure the dryer is connected to a stable mains supply within the specified voltage range. Avoid extension cords.
  • Control board replacement: If E12 persists after verifying sensors and power, the main control module may have a firmware or hardware fault. Replacement with a genuine Balay PCB is recommended, to be installed by a qualified technician.
