Possible Causes

Faulty ambient NTC sensor, Loose sensor connector, Damaged wiring to auxiliary sensor, Control board sensor input failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains before accessing internal components.

Steps to check and fix:

  • Locate the ambient sensor: On some Balay dryers, an additional NTC is located near the air intake or control panel area to monitor room temperature.
  • Inspect connections: Ensure the sensor connector is firmly attached and free of corrosion.
  • Measure resistance: Test the sensor with a multimeter at room temperature and compare with specification. Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
  • Check wiring harness: Look for pinched or broken wires between the sensor and main PCB. Repair as needed.
  • Control board diagnosis: If a known-good sensor and wiring still result in E14, the control board sensor circuit may be defective and require replacement.
