Possible Causes
Severely clogged condenser, Blocked air channels around heat exchanger, Faulty airflow or pressure sensor, Wiring fault to sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power. Allow the dryer to cool before working near the heater or heat pump.
Steps to check and fix:
- Clean condenser thoroughly: Remove the condenser/heat exchanger and rinse under running water until all lint is removed. Let it dry completely.
- Clean air channels: Access the ducts around the condenser and evaporator. Remove lint and dust with a vacuum and brush.
- Inspect airflow sensor: Some Balay models use a pressure or airflow sensor connected by a small hose. Check that the hose is not kinked, blocked, or detached. Clean or replace if clogged.
- Check sensor wiring: Ensure the sensor connector is secure and wires are intact.
- Test cycle: Reassemble and run a cycle. If E18 persists, the airflow sensor or control board may be defective and should be replaced.
