Dryer makes loud squealing or screeching noises while running.

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels. Rotating parts can cause injury.

• Localize the noise: Run the dryer briefly with the top panel removed (only if safe) to identify the noise source, then unplug before touching anything.
• Inspect rollers: Remove the front panel and check the drum support rollers. If they are flat-spotted, wobbly, or rough, replace them as a set.
• Check idler pulley: Spin the idler pulley by hand. Replace if noisy or stiff.
• Rear bearing: On models with a rear drum bearing, check for excessive play or grinding. Replace the bearing kit if worn.
• Remove foreign objects: Look for coins, bra wires, or other items caught at the drum edges and remove them.
