Possible Causes
Failed heater element, Tripped manual-reset thermostat, Faulty heater relay on PCB, Broken wire in heater circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and allow it to cool fully before accessing the heater area.
- Basic checks: Confirm the program selected is a heated cycle (not air fluff). Clean the lint filter and, on condenser/heat pump models, clean the condenser.
- Access heater: Remove the rear panel (vented) or appropriate side/rear panel (condenser) to reach the heater housing.
- Check manual-reset thermostat: Look for a small red or black reset button on a thermostat mounted to the heater housing. Press firmly to reset if tripped, then reassemble and test.
- Test heater element: Disconnect the heater and measure resistance across it. Replace if open circuit.
- Inspect wiring and relay: Check for burnt connectors and loose wires. If the heater and thermostats are good, the heater relay on the PCB may have failed and the board may need replacement.
