Possible Causes
Defective door interlock switch, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Damaged door harness or connector at control board, Faulty main control board door-sense circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer from the mains before removing any panels. Do not bypass the door lock for testing while the machine is powered.
- Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure no clothing is trapped in the door seal and that the latch engages with a solid click.
- Inspect door hook and strike: Examine the plastic/metal door hook on the door and the strike plate on the cabinet. If cracked, bent, or loose, replace the damaged part.
- Test door interlock switch: Remove the front panel or door trim (depending on model). Locate the door interlock assembly on the cabinet frame. Disconnect power, remove the connector, and test continuity across the switch terminals with the door closed. Replace the door interlock if it does not close electrically when the door is shut.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the door lock to the main PCB for broken wires, burn marks, or loose connectors. Reseat all plugs firmly.
- If all above checks pass: The fault may be on the main control board door-sense circuit. Replacement of the PCB is usually required and is best done by a qualified technician.
