Possible Causes
Worn or seized drum drive motor, Faulty motor capacitor (on some vented Beko models), Broken motor wiring or connector, Failed motor drive circuit on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from mains power before accessing internal components. Capacitors can hold charge; discharge safely if testing.
- Check drum movement: With the dryer unplugged and door open, try to rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly with moderate resistance. If it is very stiff or jammed, inspect for foreign objects or seized bearings.
- Inspect drive belt: Remove the top cover and rear panel as required. Confirm the belt is intact and correctly seated on the motor pulley and drum. Replace if frayed or broken.
- Test motor capacitor (if fitted): On some Beko vented dryers, a start/run capacitor is mounted near the motor. Visually inspect for bulging or leakage. Test capacitance with a meter and replace if out of spec.
- Check motor wiring: Ensure the motor plug is fully seated and wires are not burnt or broken. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Advanced: If the motor and capacitor test OK but E02 persists, the motor drive triac or relay on the main PCB may be faulty. PCB replacement is typically required and should be done by a professional.
