Possible Causes
Open heating element, Tripped or failed high-limit thermostat, Faulty NTC temperature sensor on heater housing, Wiring fault between heater assembly and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Heating components can remain hot after use; allow the appliance to cool fully before working on it.
- Clean lint and vents: Before opening the dryer, clean the lint filter and check the exhaust duct for blockages. Restricted airflow can overheat and trip thermostats.
- Access heater assembly: On most Beko vented dryers, the heater is mounted at the rear. Remove the back panel to expose the heater housing.
- Test heating element: Disconnect the heater terminals and measure resistance across the element. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Check thermostats and NTC: Locate the thermostats and NTC sensor on the heater housing. Test thermostats for continuity at room temperature; a high-limit thermostat that remains open must be replaced. Measure NTC resistance and compare with service data; replace if out of range.
- Inspect wiring: Look for burnt connectors or damaged wires between the heater and main PCB. Repair or replace as needed.
- If all components test OK: The heater relay or control circuit on the main PCB may be defective. This typically requires PCB replacement by a technician.
