Possible Causes
Blocked lint filter or condenser (on condenser/heat pump models), Blocked or crushed exhaust hose (vented models), Failed or stuck-closed thermostat, Faulty or obstructed blower fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off and unplug the dryer. Allow it to cool completely before inspection. Overheating can cause burns.
- Clean all airflow paths:
- Remove and thoroughly clean the lint filter.
- On condenser and heat pump models, remove the condenser unit and wash it under running water until clear.
- On vented models, disconnect and clean the exhaust hose and wall vent.
- Inspect blower fan: Access the fan housing (usually from the rear or side). Check for lint build-up, foreign objects, or a loose fan wheel. Clean and secure as needed.
- Check thermostats: Locate the high-limit thermostat(s) on the heater housing or air duct. Test for continuity. A thermostat that has permanently opened due to overheating must be replaced.
- Resettable safety thermostat: Some Beko dryers have a manual-reset thermostat with a small button. If present, press the button to reset after cleaning and resolving airflow issues.
- Verify ambient conditions: Ensure the dryer has adequate ventilation around it and is not installed in a very confined or hot space.
- If E04 persists: The temperature sensing or control circuit on the PCB may be faulty. Seek professional diagnosis.
