• Check drum and belt: Rotate the drum by hand to ensure it is not jammed. Inspect the drive belt for breakage or slipping.
• Inspect motor connections: Access the motor from the rear or base. Verify that the motor plug and tachometer connector are fully seated and free of corrosion or burn marks.
• Test motor windings: With the motor disconnected, measure resistance across the motor terminals. Compare with service data; an open winding indicates a failed motor.
• Check tachometer: If accessible, measure the tachometer coil resistance. A completely open circuit suggests a faulty tach sensor.
• Examine PCB: Look for obvious damage (burnt tracks, components) in the motor drive area. If present, the PCB will likely need replacement.
• Replace defective parts: Fit a new motor or motor/tacho assembly if tests confirm failure. PCB replacement should be done by a qualified technician.
