Possible Causes
Failed compressor, Faulty compressor start device or relay, Blocked heat exchanger causing high pressure, Faulty heat pump temperature or pressure sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. The heat pump circuit is a sealed refrigeration system; do not attempt to open or recharge it yourself.
- Clean heat exchangers: Remove the front lower cover and access the evaporator/condenser fins. Carefully clean lint and dust with a soft brush and vacuum, avoiding fin damage.
- Ensure adequate ventilation: Make sure the dryer has sufficient space around it for air circulation. Overheating can trigger protection faults.
- Listen for compressor: During operation (if safe to test), check whether the compressor starts and runs. A repeated clicking without running may indicate a failed start device or compressor.
- Check sensors and wiring: Inspect the wiring to the heat pump NTC sensors and any pressure switch for damage or loose connections.
- Do not tamper with sealed system: If cleaning and basic checks do not clear E08, the issue is likely within the sealed refrigeration circuit or control electronics. Contact an authorized Beko service technician.
