Possible Causes

Dirty or coated drum moisture sensor bars, Broken wire to moisture sensor, Faulty moisture sensor module, Defective input circuit on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before working inside the drum or control area.

  • Clean sensor bars: Locate the two metal strips (moisture sensor bars) inside the drum, usually near the lint filter opening. Clean them thoroughly with a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth to remove fabric softener residue and lint.
  • Check wiring: Access the area behind the sensor bars and verify that the wires are securely attached and not broken.
  • Run a test cycle: After cleaning, run a timed cycle and then an automatic cycle to see if E11 clears and drying performance improves.
  • Test sensor continuity: With the dryer unplugged, measure continuity across the sensor circuit while bridging the bars with a damp cloth. Lack of response indicates a wiring or sensor fault.
  • If wiring and bars are OK: The moisture sensing electronics on the PCB may be faulty, requiring board replacement.
