Possible Causes
Snapped drive belt, Belt slipped off motor pulley, Worn idler/jockey pulley, Excessive drum load causing belt to slip
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing any covers.
Diagnosis:
- Open the door and try to rotate the drum by hand. If it spins freely but does not turn during operation, suspect the belt.
- Remove the top and rear panel to inspect the belt around the drum and motor pulley.
Repair:
- If the belt is broken or badly worn, replace it with the correct Belling belt.
- Check the idler pulley for smooth rotation and replace if noisy or seized.
- Fit the new belt around the drum and motor pulley, ensuring correct routing over the idler.
Test: Reassemble and run a short cycle to confirm the drum now turns under load.
