Possible Causes

Full or incorrectly seated water tank, Blocked water level float or sensor in tank housing, Failed condensate pump (where fitted), Blocked condensate hose from sump to tank

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing panels or working near water components.

Basic checks:

  • Empty and reseat the tank: Remove the water collection tank, empty it completely, rinse if dirty, and slide it back in firmly until it clicks into place.
  • Check float and sensor: Inspect the float mechanism in the tank or housing for stuck positions due to lint or scale. Clean gently with warm water and ensure it moves freely.

Internal checks (if accessible):

  • Remove the lower front kick panel or side panel to access the condensate sump and pump (if your Belling model uses a pump).
  • Inspect hoses: Check the small rubber hose from the sump to the tank for kinks or blockages. Clear any lint or sludge.
  • Test the pump: With the machine unplugged, check the pump impeller for obstructions and ensure it turns freely. If you can safely power the pump (or run a diagnostic cycle), listen for operation. A silent or noisy, non-pumping unit likely needs replacement.

After cleaning: Reassemble panels, reconnect power, and run a short cycle. If E05 persists despite a known-empty tank and clear hoses, the level sensor or main PCB input may be faulty and require professional service.
