Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the dryer to cool before accessing the condenser area.
Clean the condenser/heat exchanger:
- Remove the condenser unit from the front lower compartment (if removable). Rinse thoroughly under running water to clear lint from the fins. Let it drain fully before refitting.
- On fixed heat exchangers, use a soft brush and vacuum to remove lint from the fins via the access panel.
Check the condenser NTC:
- Locate the NTC sensor attached to or near the condenser/heat exchanger.
- With power off, disconnect and measure its resistance at room temperature. Replace if open circuit or clearly out of specification.
Airflow:
- Ensure the condenser compartment door seals properly and that no items block the air intake or exhaust grilles.
If E12 persists: On heat pump models, the compressor or associated electronics may be at fault. This is complex and should be diagnosed by a qualified technician.
