Temperature Control / Cool-Down Issue
Dryer runs but clothes come out wrinkled or very hot at end of cycle
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Failed cycling thermostat, Stuck heater relay, Incorrect cycle selection, Overloading the drum
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use caution when handling hot clothes; allow the drum to cool before servicing.
- Use proper cycles: Select a cycle with cool-down and appropriate temperature for the fabric. Avoid using high heat for delicate items.
- Do not overload: Fill the drum only about 2/3 full to allow tumbling and reduce wrinkling.
- Test temperature: Run a timed cycle on medium heat and measure exhaust temperature. If it remains excessively high or does not cycle, test and replace the cycling thermostat.
If the heater appears to stay on continuously, the heater relay or control board may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
