Possible Causes
Defective door switch, Faulty start button, Open thermal fuse, Failed main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before testing components.
- Confirm power: Verify the outlet has correct voltage and the breaker is not tripped.
- Check door switch: Open the door and press the door switch plunger. If the drum light does not respond or the control does not recognize the door state, test the door switch for continuity and replace if faulty.
- Test thermal fuse: Access the thermal fuse on the blower housing and test for continuity. Replace if open and clean the vent system.
- Inspect start button: Remove the control panel and test the start switch for continuity when pressed. Replace if defective.
If all these components test good, the main control board may not be sending power to the motor and should be evaluated by a technician.
