Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC temperature sensor, Loose sensor wiring harness, Corroded sensor connector, Damaged harness between sensor and main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer or turn off the breaker before removing any panels.
- Power reset: Turn off power for 5 minutes, then restore. If E24 reappears immediately, proceed with inspection.
- Access sensor: On many Electrolux dryers, the exhaust NTC sensor is mounted on the exhaust duct or heater housing behind the rear panel. Remove the rear panel screws and carefully pull the panel away.
- Inspect wiring: Locate the small probe-like sensor with two wires. Ensure the connector is fully seated and there are no burnt or broken wires. Reseat the connector several times to clean contacts.
- Test sensor: Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the sensor at room temperature. Compare to Electrolux specifications (commonly around 10–20 kΩ at 25°C, but verify for your model). If the sensor reads open, shorted, or far out of spec, replace it.
- Check for lint buildup: Heavy lint on the sensor or exhaust duct can cause overheating and sensor errors. Vacuum and clean the duct and housing thoroughly.
If a known-good sensor and wiring still produce E24, the main control board's sensor input may be defective and require professional replacement.
