Possible Causes
Broken or slipped drive belt, Failed motor start capacitor, Jammed drum due to foreign object, Worn drum bearings or support rollers
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Do not keep trying to start it, as this can damage the motor.
- Check drum rotation by hand: Open the door and try to spin the drum. If it is very stiff or stuck, inspect for obstructions between drum and cabinet.
- Access belt: Remove the top and rear panel to view the belt around the drum and motor pulley. If the belt is broken or off the pulley, replace it with the correct Gorenje belt.
- Inspect rollers and idler: Check drum support rollers and idler pulley for wear or seizure. Replace noisy or seized components.
- Test motor capacitor: Locate the capacitor near the motor. After safely discharging, test with a capacitance meter. Replace if out of spec or swollen.
