Possible Causes

Open or shorted NTC temperature sensor, Loose NTC connector at heater housing or drum, Damaged wiring harness to NTC, Faulty main control module (sensor input circuit)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels. Heating components can remain hot after use.

  • Access the NTC sensor: On many Gorenje dryers, the NTC is mounted on the heater housing or near the front of the drum. Remove the top cover and, if needed, the rear panel to locate the small probe-type sensor with two wires.
  • Check connections: Ensure the NTC plug is fully seated and free of corrosion or burning. Clean contacts and reconnect.
  • Test the NTC: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter at room temperature. Typical values are in the 5–20 kΩ range (check service manual for exact spec). If reading is open (infinite) or near 0 Ω, replace the sensor.
  • Inspect wiring: Follow the harness from the NTC to the control board. Look for pinched, cut, or burned wires. Repair or replace damaged sections.
  • Control board check: If a known-good NTC and wiring still trigger E2, the control module may be defective and should be evaluated by a professional.
