Possible Causes
Blocked airflow causing overheating, Failed cycling thermostat, Stuck heater relay on control board, Defective high-limit thermostat or thermal fuse
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Overheating faults can be a fire risk; do not continue using the dryer until resolved.
- Clean all filters: Remove and clean the lint filter and, on condenser/heat pump models, the condenser filter and foam filters.
- Check condenser or vent: For condenser/heat pump units, remove the condenser and rinse thoroughly. For vented units, clean the entire exhaust duct and wall outlet.
- Inspect heater housing: Remove the rear panel and check for lint accumulation around the heater and thermostats. Vacuum carefully.
- Test thermostats: With a multimeter, check continuity of the high-limit thermostat and thermal fuse. Replace any open components with Gorenje-approved parts.
- Control board relay: If the heater remains on when it should be off (e.g., overheating quickly), the heater relay on the PCB may be stuck closed. This requires control board repair or replacement by a professional.
