Possible Causes
Blocked blower wheel, Failed fan motor, Loose or broken fan wheel, Wiring fault to fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing panels. Sharp metal edges may be exposed.
- Listen for fan operation: During a cycle, you should hear a steady airflow noise. If the drum turns but there is little or no airflow, suspect the fan.
- Access blower housing: Remove the rear or lower front panel (depending on model) to reach the blower housing.
- Inspect for obstructions: Remove lint, socks, or other items that may have been drawn into the blower wheel.
- Check fan wheel: Ensure the wheel is firmly attached to the motor shaft and not cracked. Replace if damaged.
- Test fan motor: If separate from the drum motor, test the fan motor for continuity and insulation resistance. Replace if open or shorted.
- Verify wiring: Check connectors and harness for damage or loose contacts.
