Possible Causes

Clogged lint filter, Blocked exhaust duct or wall vent, Dirty condenser unit (condenser/heat pump models), Partially failed heating element

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before cleaning internal components or ducts.

  • Clean lint filter: Remove and clean the lint filter after every load. Wash with warm soapy water if coated with residue.
  • Inspect exhaust path (vented models): Disconnect the exhaust hose and check for lint buildup or kinks. Clean the hose and wall vent thoroughly.
  • Clean condenser (condenser/heat pump models): Remove the condenser unit and rinse under running water until clear. Clean any additional filters in front of the heat exchanger.
  • Check heating element: If airflow is good but drying is still slow, test the heating element for partial failure (some coils open). Replace the element if it does not reach full output.
  • Load size: Avoid overloading the drum; leave space for clothes to tumble freely.
