Possible Causes

Full water tank not emptied, Blocked condensate pump or drain channel, Failed condensate pump motor, Faulty water level float switch or sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from mains before accessing the base or pump area. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.

  • Empty water tank: Remove the condensate water tank and empty it completely. Check for debris or slime buildup inside the tank and rinse it out.
  • Clean drain channels: Locate the condensate collection tray and channels leading to the pump. Remove lint, sludge, or scale that may block water flow.
  • Inspect pump and float: Access the base of the dryer (often via a rear or side panel). Locate the condensate pump and float switch. Check that the float moves freely and is not stuck by dirt. Clean the float chamber.
  • Test pump operation: With the dryer unplugged, check the pump wiring and connector. Then, under controlled conditions, power the dryer and start a cycle while observing whether the pump runs when water is present. If the pump does not run and has correct voltage, replace the pump assembly.
  • Check level sensor: If your model uses an electronic water level sensor, test its resistance or signal according to the service manual. Replace if faulty.
  • Persistent E09: If the mechanical components are working and channels are clear, the main control PCB input for the level sensor may be defective and require replacement.
