Possible Causes
Shorted drum light bulb or LED module, Damaged drum light wiring, Faulty low-voltage power supply on main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before replacing bulbs or accessing wiring.
- Replace drum light bulb/module: If your Gram dryer uses a replaceable bulb, remove the cover inside the drum and replace the bulb with the correct type. For LED modules, inspect for visible damage and replace the module if burnt.
- Inspect wiring: Trace the drum light wiring from the lamp to the main control PCB. Look for pinched, cut, or shorted wires touching the cabinet. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Check for moisture: Ensure the lamp cover is sealed and no moisture has entered the light housing.
- PCB low-voltage supply: If a new lamp and good wiring still result in E17, the low-voltage supply or driver circuit on the main control PCB may be faulty. Board replacement is typically required.
