Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before opening any panels. Surfaces around the heater can be very hot.
Basic airflow cleaning:
- Clean the lint filter: Remove the door filter and any secondary filter. Wash with warm water and mild detergent, dry completely, and reinstall.
- Clean the condenser/heat exchanger: On condenser and heat pump models, open the lower front flap, remove the condenser/heat exchanger module and rinse it thoroughly under running water from the rear side until water runs clear. Allow to drain and dry before refitting.
- Check air channels: With the condenser removed, use a flashlight to inspect the air channels for lint build-up. Carefully vacuum loose lint without damaging foam seals.
Sensor and thermostat checks:
- Remove the rear panel (if accessible on your model). Locate the heater housing and the NTC temperature sensor (usually clipped into the duct) and any thermal cut-outs.
- With a multimeter, test the NTC sensor resistance at room temperature; it should be within the range specified in the service documentation (commonly 5–20 kΩ at 20°C). A reading of open circuit or 0 Ω indicates a faulty sensor.
- Check the thermal cut-out(s) for continuity. A tripped or open cut-out will also cause overheating errors.
After cleaning and checks: Reassemble, restore power, and run a timed warm program with no load to see if E02 reappears. If the error persists and airflow is clearly unobstructed, replace the NTC temperature sensor and inspect the heater assembly.
